When manos Gonzales of Fremont, Califas started working on
his ’66 Impala, he knew exactly what he wanted. What
he wanted was to make the most wicked ride out there.
It all started when Manos , a member of Life’s Finest
CC (East Bay), bought the ’66 from his good friend Mike
P. for only $600. The ’66 was not running at the time
and all rusted, but Manos knew he would be dippin’ in
his bucket in no time.
As any true StreetLow Rider knows, the first thing that must
get done is getting the car running. Manos slapped in a 350
engine to make sure that no up hill drive would stop him from
attending any shows. A year and a half had passed since he
had got the car running and that’s when he took the
car to Carlos Brewman who laid the exterior of the car with
a candy tangerine and a couple of coats of clear to give the
mirror finish. Then it was off to the artist known as Issac
Perez who laid out some sick murals of a hellish theme, full
of demons and evil clowns. While the car was being painted
the grill, bumpers, hood hinges, and engine components were
sent to Martinez Plating, where these guys added a little
bling to Manos’s ride. Like many other StreetLow Riders,
Manos hooked up his ride with Reds Hydraulics and rolls on
Roadster Wheels. Then it was taken to Tong’s Customs
were they sewed up an o.g. style interior in white, which
gives it that classy look.
Five years later El Domonio ’66 was done and ready to
haunt and torment everybody on the calles. Manos would like
to thank everybody who helped put his ’66 together,
and to his wife Sarah, his kids, brother, and his car club
Life’s Finest who represent the East Bay well. |
