Still Rapping
Creating a lowrider is a touch job, you need creativity, perseverance, will, and most of all ambition. Hector “Oso” Rivera, from East Los Angeles, has been a member of the Artistics Car Club, of Soutern Cali, for approximately 22 years now. After purchasing his dream car in Dinuba, he invested $6,000 and two years in creating his beautiful enchanted low rider.
Hector is the proud owner of a 1950 Chevy Deluxe Convertible, known to many as the “Still Rapping.” This champagne gold bewitchment, painted by Mario Auto Works, got down with a mural painted on the firewall by Fonzy Air shot. This lowrider was loaded with new gear. He added a 235 motor, completely rebuilt, shaved fire walls and fender wells. AS if that wasn’t enough, he added stainless steel button head screws, replacing all the factory screws, hydros, and rims and even changed the rear end.
Hector knew that all these modifications were still not enough he wanted his car to stand out from everyone else, so he chromed out the bumper, motor, and window frames, all done by Bumper Choice. However, he was not the only one jumping up and down with excitement for his new creation, so was “Still Rapping.”The car was jumping on some Elite 2000 pumps (Chrome and Gold) purchased from hi and Low. This ride was too good to be true, and hit the streets in some Zenith Cross Lace 520 Premium, purchased in our hometown of San Jose.
WE at SLM asked Hector what made him fix up his car and he answered, “I have been lowriding for over 20 years and after building a show car, I wanted to have a a car I could enjoy and be able to drive.” And so, after three years he still continues to do so. This car has made a lasting impression on all; it has won first place in Lake Paris, USO Long Beach, and the Las Vegas 5 year show. His whole creation was done with $25,000, but his accomplished dream would last him a lifetime. Hector would like to thank Vince for keeping an eye out for his ride, which without him, he wouldn’t have had. Also to Jesse and his sone Ricardo for all their help throughout the years. In addition to his friend Richard from Able performance, Bumper Choice, West Covina Auto Trim, and Mario Auto Works. Keep you eye out for this beautiful lowrider it’s bound to cruise you by.
