Trokita
1940 chevy Truck
Genaro Sanchez is a proud member of Dukes Car Club in Santa
Clara Co. He has been part of this familia for seven years.
Throughout his time with the club, he has learned to value
himself and his creativity. He acknowledged his passion and
with the help of his loved ones, he was able to create a lowriding
beauty.
A black 1940 Chevy Truck that was painted by Steve and Ruben
of 40’s and Up Body and Paint in San Jose, Ca, is now
known to many as the “Trokita.” This Trokita has
been one of Genaro’s biggest and most challenging accomplishments.
This enchanted creation was purchased for only $4,500, but
has had more than $15,000 invested in it. With such modifications
to enhance the beauty of the ranfla, the money invested was
no obstacle. “Trokita,” has upgrades such as,
a Nova front end, a rebuilt 250 c.i. size motor or better
known to many as a straight six, and a 650- turbo transmission
just to complete the necessary power to handle any road. This
trokita is automatic and with power steering. Trokita rolls
down the boulevard as a daily driver styling with a set of
pipes, just for that rapping sensation. Let us not forget
about the K.Y.B. Shocks that were installed in the front and
rear of the new suspension, this trokita was set up good enough
to handle those dangerous curves. A Banjo steering wheel was
added to give it that elegant look that it deserved. One thing
that really amazes me on this trokita, is the chrome, it gives
it character of originality. For being the original chrome
it still shines like a million bucks.
Genaro’s next mission was to get a set of rims and tires.
He purchased a set of 14x6 smoothie wheels with P185/75R14
size tires and with a two and a half inch white wall. A big
thank you to Stockton Tire and Wheels. The upholstery was
redone to the original look to keep up that value.
When asking Genaro what made him wan to fix the truck up,
he answered, “The Lifestyle, … it’s in the
heart.” Like many people today, he was hit with the
lowriding fever. Genaro would like to take a moment and thank
his wife, his familia and all his club members of the Dukes
of Santa Clara County. He knows how important it is to keep
your dream alive and the lowriding lifestyle cruising. Keep
your eye out for that famous “Trokita.” |
