Mr. Mafioso
Too many a car is simply an asset, something that takes you
from one point to another. These people don’t take pride
in their cars, for they lack ambition, artistic fantasies,
and of course knowledge of lowriders. We all know that owning
a lowrider today brings great pride to a person and all whom
ride in it. Our lowriders are not a piece of property; they
are our life, a great part of our family. It not only holds
all the stories of our past, it also contains all our dreams
of the future.
With this description, I can proudly introduce the beautiful
creation that “Crazy” George Luna worked so hard
to rebuild and maintain. George Luna is the founder of a widely
known car club, “Viejitos CC,” and has belonged
to this family for 15 years. Being a resident of Riverside,
CA, he knew he had competition in for him. That was no challenge;
he had the support from his family and the dreams to give
him all the strength he needed to overcome all competition.
He is a proud owner of a 1936 Packard B120. None other than
Lobo, from Nonestop in East LA, painted this light brown ride.
It has had slight modifications done to it such as the suspension,
sub frame, the 400hp motor, 400 turbo trans, and disc brakes
on four corners. The clean wheels that this famous lowrider
cruises on and the hydraulics that show off the beauty or
the ride were all purchased from none other than “The
Bomb Shop” in Riverside, CA.
Being the second owner of the car was no regret. This ride
was so different and unique that spending over $35,000 to
make the car shine was no struggle. It was bringing a little
taste of old school back into his life. He has now owned this
beauty for 26 years. “Mr. Mafioso,” as so the
car is named, has won best in show, best bomb, and many other
competitions through its car show history. “This car
is not just a car, it’s part of my familia. It will
stay around ‘till God wants it to. It will be passed
down to my daughter, from me and hopefully to my great grandkids.
You see this car’s history will never end…”
Crazy George Luna and Lorena C. Luna Daughter would like to
give thanks to God, their family and kids, and all their homies
from Viejitos Car Club, for all their support and faith. “I
will like to thank Street Low Magazine for all the support
they give to the lowrider movement all over, with no color
signs guiding the way,” said George. The lowrider movement
is being continued and modified by us, the community, and
therefore it will never die. |
