One Low 58
Impalas Car Club
This side show of the month is owned by Donny Molina. He is
a member of the famous Impalas Car Club (central coast chapter).
We would like to say that this beauty has never been inside
a shop. One hundred percent of frame off restoration was done
by the owner in a matter of approximately five months, so
this baby is 100% home grown. The engine is a balanced and
blueprinted 350 small block with Keith aluminum glasspacks
for mellow sound, Edelbrock intake carb, chrome hood latches
and hood springs, and a chrome POSI rear end. The suspension
consists of chrome upper and lower A-arms, white powder coated
frame, chrome trailing arms and backing plates and a new polyurethane
bushings throughout. The under carriage chrome was done by
SouthSide Chrome Shop in Los Angeles. This ranflita has a
real nice hydro set up, with two pump and four dump chrome
set up, six Deep Cycle Marine Batteries, telescoping drive
line and one ton hopping coils, this car gets up to twenty
inches and has a quick disconnect, just in case of a short.
The interior is an original reproduction kit from CARS. It
has a green tri-tone interior and NOS green tinted glass.
The exterior and paint scheme consists of a 1998 Mercedes
Green paint with gloss white top, the base coat is clear,
the under carriage is sand blasted and under coated gloss
back, with clear tail lights with green bulbs.
Some of the options are the o.g. license plates, dual antennas,
dual mirrors, fender skirts, with scuff pads on skirts, a
cool looking og compass, and a tissue dispenser. Now you can’t
have a true low without the sound system and of course this
was also done by Donnie. It has a Kenwood CD player, six speaker
Polk Audio Stealth System, two tweeters and four mids with
two amplifiers under the seats. All this runs on some 13x7
100 spoke Zenith wires, two wing og Zenith knock offs and
155 80r13 Winston Radial Tires.
We love to see our homies putting all this ard work into a
ride. We in the Lowriding community know that it is a lot
of work and a lot of money in order to put something like
this together, but as you can see, it all pays off in the
end. This 58 Impala is one of the finest rides out there and
Donny not only shows it off at the shows and gathering but
drives it around almost on a daily basis. Donny would love
to thank his parents, Mercy, the Impalas Car Club and this
would not have been possible without the help and love of
his daughter, Al rato… |
